The Dull of Day

In dull of day
the dark blue far-away ocean
appeared in a daydream;
her rock bound coast
with jagged boulders

kissed the slopes of low-lying hills
where pines and firs and cedars
clustered together
 a frolicking stream
tumbled down the mountainside
and I awoke wondering
who could not believe in God
if dreams such as this
occur
in the dull of day
