she wakes and unlocks all the streams
jeweled fingers
break the icy bonds
scattered seed yield fragrant flowers
swollen buds burst forth in fruitful bloom
over the hills a balmy breeze is felt
swaying branches of leafing trees
antlered deer quench their thirst at dawn
along the streams enchanted path
flashy robins in scarlet vest
return with morning carols
to a gaily painted sky of morning
blue and yellow
later slashed with whips of fire
as the sun dips to rest

you are loved more with each return
oh gentle maiden Spring

awaiting, arising, fascinating
east, dawn, west, dusk
stunning, descending, evening,
nightfall, Creator
